Fall for Holiday Catalog Countdown Day #3: Halloween Treat Bag

It’s day three of my Stampin’ Up Holiday Catalog countdown and today I have a fun little treat bag to share with you. In my neck of the woods (Cape Cod, MA), it’s the perfect crafting weather today… overcast, dreary and rainy. So I’ll be hitting the craft table again later today to get ahead on a few Countdown posts for the week. I’ve got a lot of events coming up for the fall season so time to get to work! But today, I’m focusing on the little “goblins” that may have in your life. They will love this little treat bag. Well, really, anyone with a sweet tooth (I’m raising my hand) will love this project. Of course all the pumpkin paraphernalia is alive in well in the stores already so I grabbed a bucket of pumpkin gum drops at the Christmas Tree Shop the other day. I thought they would look adorable in the Stampin’ Up 3 x 6 gusseted bags… and they do, don’t you think? It was easier to showcase this one via video so you can see that below (and you seemed disappointed yesterday when I didn’t have one! I do aim to please so

Fall for Holiday Countdown: Gather Together & Give Thanks

There’s something about the fall that makes me feel grateful. Maybe it’s the bright sunshine lighting up the brightly colored leaves or the cool, crisp air – or if you have kids, maybe it’s the new-found quiet in the house! (hee hee) Don’t get me wrong… I’m in no hurry to rush through the end of my summer days… It really is my favorite, but I love the fall, too. That’s why I’m so in love with the new Painted Autumn Suite in the new Stampin’ Up holiday catalog. If you’re just joining me, I’m counting down some of my favorites from the new catalog over the first 12 days of September. You can view a PDF of the catalog HERE and you can view the products in my online store HERE. We’ll follow my 12 days of the Fall for Holiday Countdown with a Facebook party on Tuesday, September 12, so be sure to let me know if you’ll be tuning in that night. You can click “going” on the event page HERE. And don’t worry, it’s all online so you don’t need to live near me! Anyway, back to today’s prettiness… I made a gussied up card today

Fall for Holiday Catalog Countdown: Teacher Treat Box

Hello my friends! It’s September 1st! That means it’s new Stampin’ Up holiday catalog day! Yay! It also means it’s day one of my 12-day Fall for Holiday Catalog Countdown. Each day I’ll be sharing a new project here on the blog and I’ll also be sending it out via email (with some special perks for my subscribers… so be sure to jump on my mailing list here). Being September 1st, it also means back to school for many kiddos — some may have even already gone back already (is summer really over??)! So today, I’m sharing a project featuring the “Year of Cheer” Suite (pages 36-37 of the Holiday catalog). As the kids start school, it’s never a bad idea to “bribe” the teacher a little, right? And what better way to butter up the teacher than with a little chocolate! So today’s project is this adorable (and easy!) treat box. In addition to the Year of Cheer Suite, I also used the envelope punch board as a major component of this project. It’s such a handy little tool in the craft room! So here’s the project: I made a video to show you how to make this little

Teach Me Tuesday: Make some Quick & Easy Cards

Do you ever get the desire to create something, but you don’t know what you want to create? Or maybe you know you’d love to make some hand-stamped greeting cards, but you just don’t know where to begin? I have a great solution for you today! Enter the Soft Sayings Card Kit from Stampin’ Up (item#145466, $35). This kit is super easy to put together, and makes gorgeous cards! I do recommend a tombow multipurpose liquid glue (item# 119755, $4) for this kit in addition to your snail adhesive (item# 104332, $7), and dimensionals (which the dimensionals are included in the kit!). These cards are really gorgeous and I love that the kit comes with everything you need to make 20 beautiful cards (seriously, they are so much better in person!). What’s even better is you get the ink, the embellishments and a full size stamp set with the kit. You can even buy a refill kit (item# 145387, $21), that will allow you to make 20 more cards without getting a duplicate ink spot and stamp set. But, what I’m going to help you with today — is how to use that stamp set to give yourself even more options. Here is a

Teach Me Tuesday: Quick & Easy Scrapbook Pages

Do you ever suffer from “page envy?” You know, that time when you look at someone’s scrapbook page (or any creative endeavor!) and think, “I wish my project looked like that.” I had a bout of that recently. Everything I did felt too linear. Too straight. Too boring. But then I took a step back and realized this is my style at the moment. It may not be the same a month from now, a week from now or even a day from now. But it is what I produced right now and it’s okay. In fact, it’s more than okay! It’s me. We should embrace who we are creatively, right? And I still firmly believe Theodore Roosevelt was right when he said “Comparison is the thief of joy” — in all areas of life! With that said, sometimes we don’t have a lot of time to spend on our creativity (and sometimes I think more time spent on one project translates into more stress and lack of joy… I think that was what happened at my recent crafty weekend. Anyway I digress!). Today’s Teach Me Tuesday tip is all about scrapbooking with Stampin’ Up’s new Memories & More card

Going Above & Beyond…

If there is one thing that Stampin’ Up knows how to do, it is to spoil it’s top achievers! This company knows how to put together an incentive trip and is the absolute best at pulling off all those little details. Anyway, I wanted to share some more photos from my trip to Thailand courtesy of Stampin’ Up. From the moment we arrive, we are treated like royalty. Stampin’ Up rented the entire Angsana Laguna resort for us (so only Stampin’ Up families and staff were on site)! Here are some photos from the resort: First we were welcomed with our name on our door. It’s really fun to walk down the hallway and find all the names of my fellow achievers and friends! This was the view from our balcony This was our room This was outside one of the restaurants (Baan Talay) I loved all these adorable little lanterns. They were really beautiful when it was all lit up at night. The entire resort was set in the middle of a lagoon, so there were fun little “rivers” and bridges throughout the resort. Here’s one of the cute bridges. The resort was huge! We were still discovering new

Stampin’ Up Incentive Trip: Thailand Swap Inspiration

How did it get to be Friday already? Seriously, this week has been a whirlwind. I’m sorry I’m a day late with this post — I had all good intentions of getting these swap cards up yesterday, but Thursday was a marathon of meetings… I didn’t even get to eat lunch yesterday! I was so happy to get back home at 10PM and just plop on my couch! Anyway, as promised, here are some of my favorite swaps from the Thailand incentive trip. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a photo of my own swap so I can’t share that with you — but these are awesome so I’m sure you’ll find some great inspiration here! In no particular order… This beauty was made by Winona Semler, Canada I love this one — I’m going to need to make one of these, too! This one is by Barbara Lash, Massachusetts (Funny how I go to the other side of the world to swap cards with someone right in my own state, right?? 🙂 This lovely is by Debra Burgin, Illinois This card inspired this week’s Teach Me Tuesday video! I love this one by my friend Lorri Heiling, Arizona This set

Let’s Talk about Thailand

Oh my word. I had such an amazing time in Thailand for the Stampin’ Up incentive trip last week! It was most definitely a trip of a lifetime. I am completely messed up schedule-wise still, though. It is 5AM and I have been up for nearly 3 hours already! Those of you that know me, know that I am NOT an early morning girl, but perhaps this trip is going to change me! I even stayed up later than I’ve managed to do since I got home (a whopping 9PM), but yet, I still woke up five hours later wide awake and ready to get my day started. Oh well, at least I’m being productive, right? I’ve written two press releases, uploaded all my photos for printing and updated my to-do list all before 5AM! Anway, I won’t bore you with all the details of my trips (want to sit down and view my 5,000 slides anyone? lol), but I did want to write a little bit about the trip. First, I just want to say thank YOU. If it weren’t for you and my fabulous Shore Stampers team I would not have had this amazing experience. I probably don’t

Teach Me Tuesday: 3D Dynamic Textured Embossing Folders

Happy Fourth of July, friends! I hope you’re spending the day doing something relaxing… beach? cookout? crafting?  We’ve been blessed with beautiful weather here on the Cape for the holiday. I did a little of the beach yesterday, a cookout tonight and some crafting today. So all in all, a great holiday. Although I must admit as much as I enjoyed getting a base tan for my vacation at the beach with my bestie, yesterday wasn’t the best of days. I got bit by a dog on my walk yesterday morning — no worries, he only caught my pants (he ripped a whole in them, though!). Thankfully, they were just my workout pants. And then last night I scraped the decorative wall in my sister’s driveway with my new car. I’m so bummed. Good news is that it shouldn’t cost too much to fix. Just an added thing “to do.” I’m a bit ridiculously sad about it, though. For those of you that know me, you know I get pretty attached to my cars. My last one I had for 212,000 miles. I literally cried when I traded her in last year. Me and Rosy were partners in crime (not

Reflecting on 11 Years with Stampin’ Up!

It’s so hard to believe this, but I’ve been a Stampin’ Up demonstrator for 11 years! I could not have imagined how much my life would have been impacted over a decade ago when I first filled out the paperwork. I was reading the back story of the newest Million Dollar Achiever in our company (they’ve sold a million dollars worth of product since they first started as a demonstrator) and it made me want to go back and re-read some of the other achiever’s stories. It’s amazing how many different reasons there are for joining, and all the different ways each of these demonstrators have been successful. But what stood out in almost every story I read (there have been 18 demonstrators worldwide that have reached this milestone) is that each person identified the relationships they had formed as one of the most treasured parts of their journey. I can totally relate to that. I have over 650 friends on Facebook. I don’t say that to brag. I’m just illustrating a point. Without actually going in there to count, I would be willing to bet that well over half of those people are beautiful souls I met over stamping.
