Hey there stampy friends! Happy Tuesday! It is a glorious day here on Cape Cod. I went for a walk this morning, it was such a great way to start my day (albeit a bit chilly). I have a ton of ideas swirling around in my head for Teach Me Tuesday videos — and all of you have provided some great inspiration as well!
In fact, today’s Teach Me Tuesday video was a special request from my friend Verna. She tagged me in a Facebook post a few weeks back asking if I could show her how to create a card shown in the video. And it turned out that the technique (emboss resist) made for a great topic for Teach Me Tuesday! It actually teaches TWO things in one video. First is how to heat emboss. While this is an oldie (but oh so awesome!!), it is still new to many and it is an incredible “wow” when you first see it. I know it was one of the first things that hooked me on stamping over a decade ago! The second thing you’ll learn in this week’s Teach Me Tuesday video is the emboss resist technique, which is literally about ink “resisting” the embossed images.
Check out the video below to see how you can make some fun cards like this one:
Here is a close-up of the emboss resist part of the card:
This is such a fun technique… I hope you like it, too. Here is the video to show you how to re-create the look yourself…
What do you think? Easy enough, right? I love the ka-pow it creates. And I love when you first start adding the ink and the images start popping off the page, so fun! And as a bonus tip, I find it a perfect antidote when I’m lacking creative inspiration. You should try it!
Here is a picture of the other card I showed in the video:
