Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspiration: Love is in the Air

Feb 9, 2017 | blender pens, card making, Jen Pitta, Love, Stylin' Stampin' Inkspiration, watercoloring

Hey there friends!
What’s the weather like in your neck of the woods? For us here on the East coast (I’m on Cape Cod in Massachusetts), we’re expecting a snowy day. Nothing wrong with that… get to spend the day working on some projects for my weekend with the Cool Crops gals in Andover!
But I know you didn’t come here today to talk about the weather… you came to see all the inspiration from the Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspiration design team!

As you hop along, please be sure to comment and show some love on every blog! We are always excited to hear from our followers! You should have just left stop number 11 on the Stylin’ Stampin’ INKspiration Blog Hop – (Faith. Grace. Stamp with Jen G). If so, you are in the right spot. If a link doesn’t work or you get off track, you will find the full blog hop lineup below.

Today we are all sharing our “love.” Theme for this month’s blog hop is “Love is in the Air.” So I choose to do a card using the adorable little hedgehogs from the Love You Lots Hostess stamp set. These sets are only available when you host an in-home class or event or if you place an order of $150 or more (and let me tell you, with the amazing Sale-A-Bration options right now, there’s no shame in that!).

Here is the stamp set:

These little critters just make me so happy! 🙂 I felt like doing a little watercoloring with my blender pens so I grabbed the hedgehogs first. Here is my card:
I used the new In Color patterned paper stack for the background (4 x 5.25″). Then I used the “thinking of you” sentiment from that same stamp set to stamp a little tone on tone background on the Pear Pizzazz strip. I also used the Happy Heart Textured Impressions Embossing folder with Soft Suede cardstock. Oh how I love that folder (ha… no pun intended!). Then I chose to use the blender pens for watercoloring… I like those best because I think they’re great for watercoloring novices like me (I’m not very good at it!). The make getting the watercolor look easy!
I did manage to put together a watercoloring video, this week though for my Teach Me Tuesday… if you want a little help deciphering all the Stampin’ Up tools take a peek at my video HERE.
But first, be sure to finish the blog hop! Next up is the fabulous Bree from Craft-Somnia Momma
