Anyway, I’m back after a half-day in my pjs and lots of ink on my fingers! I love when I get to enjoy a snow day!!!
It took a while to get my mojo back today, but I think I’m up and running again.
I made this first card for a club project in February. I wanted to do the Crayon Resist technique again, which I used on both the background element and the popped up flowers on this card.
This was one of those projects where I had no idea where I was going when I started. I just knew I wanted to use the crayon resist technique. So I pulled out the Embrace Life stamp set because I thought the cherry blossom type flowers would make a good background panel — and it did! Then it just needed something else so I added the two larger flowers and used clear rhinestone brads in the center… and I have to say I’m happy with how it came out!
You know how I can tell when I’ve made a good card? I tend to stalk it for a while. Lol! I will set it up on my craft table and then every time I walk by it, I stop and admire it for a moment. I think I get that from my Mom. She used to clasp her hands together and push all the air out between her palms so it would make this squeaky noise when she was admiring her handiwork. So you can picture me sitting at my desk doing that now! And it’s fitting because I was actually supposed to go hang out with my Mom tonight, but she wouldn’t let me because of the snow — dang snow!
Anyway, I digress. For my second card I’m sharing today (I figured I’d treat you to two cards today as I’ve been missing for about a week!), there isn’t a whole lot of stamping actually.
I made the focus of this card the Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper. I can’t tell you how much I love this paper pack! So versatile!
And I finally broke into my Sweet Pea stitched felt. I’m a bit of a hoarder sometimes and want to OWN everything, but don’t necessarily USE it. What is up with that? Lol!
I just stamped a quick birthday sentiment and layered a couple of pieces of cardstock and voila!
This would be a great card to make when you realize you’ve forgotten someone’s birthday and need something really quick. I think it probably came together in under 2 minutes!
Well for those of you reading this on the East coast, I hope you survived the snow storm OK. Here on the Cape, well, lets just say it didn’t quite turn out to be all it was hyped up to be — yet, anyway! Happy shoveling!
Thanks for stopping by!
